Our ports are a crucial gateway to both domestic and international markets and are the backbone of our import and export capabilities.
We operate seven of the eight bulk export grain elevators in eastern Australia. Our elevators handle wheat, barley, canola, chickpeas, and sorghum. These commodities are delivered by rail and road, from GrainCorp, third-party storage, as well as direct from on-farm storage.
Our ports handle a variety of non-grain products including woodchips, fertiliser, magnesia, oil and cement.
We have a bulk commodity terminal located at Pinkenba in Brisbane. At this site we handle mineral sands, bulk fertilizer and protein meal in particular.

Application for Services
If a customer requests GrainCorp to load wheat on a vessel at a port terminal owned by GrainCorp, the customer must nominate a cargo for loading at a Port Terminal by submitting a Cargo Nomination Application (CNA) form.
The Port Protocols outline procedures for nominating a cargo and accepting or declining a Cargo Nomination Application.
All notices and applications pursuant to a CNA must be directed to GrainCorp in the manner described in the Protocols.

Containers
We operate out of Brisbane and Geelong for packing grain and other commodities in containers for worldwide export.
Brisbane
This facility at Fisherman Islands is purpose built with a high level of automation and integration. It is registered by AQIS and is used to pack a range of cereals and legumes. Packing capacity is up to six containers per hour and stocks can be drawn from the main export terminal or received directly by road. Certified weighing and quality testing to AQIS export requirements enables the loading of containers direct for dispatch, without the need for subsequent weighing and handling.
Geelong
Customers can draw stocks from bulk terminal storage or receive delivery of commodities by road or rail at this location. The facility also offers a convenient outturn to the domestic market and direct delivery to two malt houses via conveyor belt.
